Located on the rolling hills of Elizabeth, Colorado, Bonnie Blues is a modern farmhouse style venue with thoughtful and detailed accents throughout the property. This locally owned and operated venue was a family vision that quickly turned into a legacy. From scratch, Hannah and her family created a perfect home for all types of events and gatherings.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Although the idea of owning a wedding venue was always on Hannah’s mind, it became a top priority after her brother got married. One of the issues that arose was weather concerns and not having a “plan B” option. Hannah and her father realized the limitations of wedding venues in Colorado and wanted to create not only a beautiful venue but a seamless process for all couples, clients, and vendors. 

Hannah had experience in art and design, while her father owned his own landscaping company making them a perfect match to bring this idea to reality. They started this vision quite literally from scratch at breakfast one morning. 

“It was a 3 hour breakfast and we literally took napkins and started drawing, writing out plans and ideas of what each of us wanted to see”

After 4.5 years of designing, permitting, and building that sketch on a napkin is now an award winning venue that can service clients throughout all 4 seasons here in Colorado.

DESIGN

During the design and build process, each decision that was made had intention behind it as Hannah designed the property with how the day would unfold for wedding vendors and clients alike as her main concern. Every decision was made with intention in order to provide the best environment possible for everyone who stepped on the property of Bonnie Blues.

Hannah’s most memorable moment of creating Bonnie Blues is:

“Many people don’t know this but Katie and I stained every single piece of wood that you see by hand. It took us 3 months to complete”

WHY BONNIE BLUES?

A well thought out space, a passionate team, and a beautiful sunset view make Bonnie Blues one of the top venues in Colorado. Bonnie Blues is also unique in that it offers multiple ceremony sites during all 4 seasons allowing couples to customize their experience. In 2024 Bonnie Blues added a greenhouse to complete the site and allow clients to not be limited during inclement weather. They are pioneers in the industry for creating a ceremony site that has an outdoor feel while still keeping your guests protected from the elements. 

The greenhouse has a stunning modern/rustic design that can fit any couple’s aesthetic and allow for couples to have an experience for their ceremony that they can’t get anywhere else.  

“Since its a true greenhouse it is warm all year round so even if it’s cold or snowing outside we can host a beautiful event”
